School Information

Welcome > Local Info > School Information ...

There are nine different school districts educating our children in Montgomery County.  That's right, nine!  Don't believe me?  Check out this map !!

Conroe ISD is the largest and encompasses the Conroe area and much of The Woodlands. Montgomery ISD is the second largest and encompasses much of the Lake Conroe area. The Willis ISD encompasses much of northeast Montgomery County and the Magnolia ISD encompasses much of the southwest part of the county. Splendora and New Caney ISDs are in east county. Rounding out the nine are slivers of the Tomball, Cleveland and Richards ISDs. Below are some links to the larger ISDs:

Conroe ISD

Montgomery ISD

Splendora ISD

Willis ISD

Magnolia ISD

New Caney ISD

There are also a number of private schools that should be noted.  Among them are:

Mims Christian Academy

Oak Ridge Christian Academy

Covenant Christian School

The John Cooper School

I should slip in some info about local colleges and universities.  Montgomery College is located between Conroe and The Woodlands.  It is part of the NHMCCD family and offers associate degrees as well as bachelor's and master's degrees through their partner universities at The University CenterSam Houston State University is located about 30 miles north of Conroe in the city of Huntsville.  Sam Houston was founded in 1879 and is one of the oldest universities in Texas.  It offers 79 undergraduate degree programs, 48 master's degree programs and 5 doctoral programs.   Just south of Montgomery County are a number of universities located in Harris County including the University of HoustonRice University, Houston Baptist University, Texas Southern University, and the University of St. ThomasAs you can see, there are a myriad of choices close by.  And if you want to venture out a little farther, Texas A&M is located only about 50 miles from the City of Montgomery.

Everyone offers free school reports. Me too! Plus I offer more. Cosmetic Improvements >The Sniff Test

The sense of smell is a powerful motivator. When prospective buyers walk into a house, they respond more positively if they smell freshly baking oatmeal cookies instead of the lingering odor of a household pet.

As the homeowner, you may not notice odors that visitors are aware of as soon as they walk in the door. When your house is for sale, ask a friend or neighbor to give it a "sniff test". If there are offensive odors in your home, how do you get rid of them?

There are a few simple solutions--giving the floors and walls a good scrubbing, using the old vanilla-on-the-light-bulb trick, plugging in an essential oil diffuser and throwing out the dog's special chair. You can temporarily declare your home a "no smoking" zone. You may need professional help for cleaning carpets and drapes or deodorizing walls and wood floors. Your real estate agent will be able to provide you with a list of cleaning services which can assist you in making your home smell clean and fresh.
