From The Woodlands to Willis, to historic Montgomery and the beautiful waters of sprawling Lake Conroe, I would like to invite you to visit some of our local communities. 

Let's first take a look at some of the neighborhoods closest to Lake Conroe ...
 

Walden 

Walden was one of the first communities to embrace the beauty of Lake Conroe. Situated on a peninsula, it has many picturesque views of Lake Conroe. Walden has housing to meet anyone's needs including estate homes, condos, patio homes and single-family houses in various price ranges. It has many amenities including the swimming pools, tennis courts and a golf course. 

Grand Harbor 

Grand Harbor is one of the newest private waterfront communities on Lake Conroe with many waterfront homes and waterfront lots still available. This beautiful gated community has security gate guards seven days a week. Enjoy the amenities offered in Grand harbor such as private waterfront park and boat access, pavilions with park benches for family gatherings, community recreational areas, inland park and tennis courts, sand volleyball courts and easy access to Lake Conroe. 

The Island 

Billed as the only island development left on Lake Conroe, The Island has large lots starting at 1/2 acre. This gated subdivision has a 12 acre sport field including tennis, volleyball, track, soccer and baseball. 

April Sound 

April Sound is another wonderful private waterfront and golf community on Lake Conroe. Only 20 minutes north of The Woodlands and 45 minutes from Houston, you can enjoy the benefits of a vacation home or townhome while enjoying the 27 holes of golf along the waters of Lake Conroe. Whether you are looking for that second home on the water, retirement in a golf course community, or your family’s first home, April Sound has many amenities to fulfill any homeowners needs including tennis courts, swimming pools, club house, work out room, boat launch and a lakeside conference center. These are just a few of the advantages of living in April sound. 

Bentwater 

Bentwater is a 1,400 acre community on Lake Conroe with over 12 miles of shoreline. It has many amenities including 3 golf courses, yacht club, sports club and day spa. Offerings include waterfront lots, country estates, golf course homes and interior lots.

Now let's take a look at the Conroe area and review some of their neighborhoods ...
 

City of Conroe 

There are a number of very nice well-established neighborhoods within the City of Conroe. To name just a few, I would have to include Rivershire, Forest Estates, Wroxton Estates, McDade Estates, River Plantation and Wedgewood. These neighborhoods are comprised of many older homes that are very well built as well as newer more energy efficient homes. There are also more affordable neighborhoods in Conroe including Artesian Forest, Foster Oaks, Woodcrest and Wiggins Village. But this list only scratches the surface of all the neighborhoods in Conroe. If you are interested in Conroe, I am intimately familar with the city and can help you sort through all of your options. 

Crighton Ridge 

Crighton Ridge and its neighboring development Crighton Woods are located a few miles south of the heart of Conroe. They includes parks, playgrounds, pavilion and walking trail. Both are conveniently located just minutes from The Woodlands Mall and the Conroe Outlet Center, a multitude of restaurants in The Woodlands and Conroe as well as top medical facilities. 

Stewart's Forest 

Stewarts Forest is located just off South Loop 336 in the City of Conroe. A master planned community, it is comprised of almost 1,000 acres. Amenities include hike and bike trails, a community recreation center and landscaped reserve areas. Located on the south side of Conroe, it is centrally located between The Woodlands Mall and the Conroe Outlet Center. It is also within minutes of many area restaurants and shopping establishments.  

Estates of West Fork 

The Estates of West Fork is located just west of Loop 336 in Conroe near the West Fork of the San Jacinto River. It is a golf course community that is home to The Links.  

Teaswood 

Hidden away in the natural beauty and seclusion of park like living, is this wonderful hideaway in Conroe, TX. Teaswood’s distinctive homes are quickly being recognized as Conroe’s and The Woodland’s most prestigious and exclusive homes in this private countryside community. Teaswood is only minutes from I-45 offering easy access to downtown Conroe and a straight drive into downtown Houston, only 40 minutes away. Fine dining, great shopping malls, and entertainment at the Cynthia Mitchell Pavilion are within an easy driving distance to The Woodlands. 

Graystone Hills by Friendswood Development 

Graystone Hills is a new 331 acre development enhanced by a topography that includes rolling hills and bluffs. It is located off Longmire Road which is on the west side of Conroe. Amenities will include a nature preserve, greenbelt trails and a community park and pool. 780 homes are projected to be built with a price range beginning at $160,000. Grand opening occurred in the fall, 2006 with buildout in 2011. 

Silverstone 

SilverStone is one of the first acreage communities for Village Builders. Featuring a 15-acre reserve with a lake as the focal point of the community, this gated community offers homesites that are approximately an acre in size. SilverStone is approximately 2 miles west of I-45, off Loop 336 on the southside of Conroe. It offers proximity to Lake Conroe and its water recreational opportunities, as well as numerous area golf courses, shopping, dining, health care and entertainment facilities in both Conroe and The Woodlands.

Perfection Ranch 

Perfection Ranch is an acreage community of lots from 4 to 20 acres in size. It has an equestrian facility for Western, Jumping and Dressage pursuits. Perfection Ranch allows its residents to enjoy country life with the conveniences many homeowners have come to expect, like underground utilities and high speed internet service. 

Crown Oaks 

Crown Oaks is a 1,400 acre gated subdivision located on the rolling terrain of West Montgomery County. Homesites are 1 to 5 acres in size. Amenities include underground utilities, street lights, fiber optic cable, central water / hydrants and lakes and parks. 

Crown Ranch 

Crown Ranch is one of the newest developments in Montgomery County. It is located on FM 1486 between Dobbin and Magnolia. A private gated community, it is situated on rolling wooded terrain and offers 1 - 5 acre homesites. Amenities will include riding trails, pavilion, clubhouse with the Blaketree National Golf Course just down the road. 

Grand Lake Estates 

Grand Lake Estates is an acreage subdivision on the rolling hills of west Montgomery County. It includes Gary Player's first signature golf course in Texas. Features underground utilities and natural gas and cetral water / fire hydrants, parks and lakes.  

Highland Ranch 

Highland Ranch is a gated community just minutes from Lake Conroe. All homesites are at least 1 acre in size up to 5 acres. Amenities include nature / riding trails and spring fed creeks and private lakes. Convenient location between the cities of Conroe and Montgomery. Located in the Conroe Independent School District. 

Buffalo Springs 

Buffalo Springs is an 800 acre planned development located with the City of Montgomery. Conveniently located to nearby shopping and restaurants. First two sections offer 98 lots of various sizes form homes in the $190,000 to $280,000 price bracket. These homes are required to be built on one of the five approved builders. 

Ridge Lake Shores 

RidgeLake Shores is a large lake community located off of Fish Creek. It includes two lakes designed by the acclaimed Jimmy Houston. Situated on rolling terrain, RidgeLake Shores offers large homesites in a calm peaceful setting.  

Woodforest Development 

Woodforest is the newest master planned community in Montgomery County. It is located on 3,000 acres of rolling forested terrain surrounding the Woodforest Golf Club. Amenities will include parks, trails, pools to complement 5,500 single family homes ranging in price from the $200's to more than $1 million. 

The above list is not anywhere close to being a complete listing. There are many other options to choose from. Now let's takes a look at the growing area of Willis ...

City of Willis

The City of Willis is a growing community about 8 miles north of Conroe.  It is at the crossroads of Interstate 45 and FM 1097 which traverses Lake Conroe.  25 miles north of Willis is the City of Huntsville, home of Sam Houston State University, my husband's alma mater.  While still in the Texas Piney Woods Region, the terrain becomes more rolling as you progress toward the Willis area.  West of Willis includes many lake subdivisions such as Point Aquarius and Seven Coves that were included in the above Lake Conroe section.  As you drive north or east, you encounter a rural feel with many small and large acreage tracts available.

Ranch Estates at Caney Creek

This is a new development of 10+ acre homesites starting at $8,500 per acre.  It is located about 5 miles ESE of Willis on Willis Waukegan Road (FM 2432) close to the FM 1484 intersection.

The Woodlands 

The Woodlands is by far the largest master planned community in Montgomery County. It is comprised of a number of villages with a variety of price ranges. The Woodlands includes a large amount of office space, shopping and entertainment. It is primarily on the west side of I-45 starting in the southern most reaches of Montgomery County. Its location and park-and-ride facilities make this one of the best areas to live and commute to the Houston job market. 

Sendera Ranch 

Sendera Ranch is a wooded acreage community in southwest Montgomery County comprised of 2 to 5 acre homesites. It is near the bustling intersection of FM 1488 and FM 2978 

Imperial Oaks 

Imperial Oaks is a 1400 acre master planned community east of I-45 in South Montgomery County. The master plan devotes over 100 acres to recreational facilities, including greenbelt trails, swimming pool, tennis courts, soccer fields, t-ball fields, playgrounds, nature preserve and clubhouse. 

These are just two of the many options in South Montgomery County. I lived in the southern most reaches of Montgomery County in the late 70's when it was sparsely populated and had very limited shopping and restaurants. Like many long term Montgomery County residents, I have watched in amazement as it has evolved.
